I was reading a wiki about chili pepper species (weird, I know) and I discovered that their hotness is measured with the Scoville scale, so there are some very much hotter than others. It made me think about them like they were athletes or fighters so I mixed that with my fascination for mexican masked wrestlers, plus chili peppers are a typical ingredient of mexican food and culture, and the joke was done.
