Collective: Brothers of the Stripe
Project: Tea Time exhibition

A collection of work created for the Brothers of the Stripe exhibition – Tea Time | Manchester. Soup Kitchen (an exhibition exploring the concept of Tea Time through a variety of illustrative styles and techniques). I decided to create a body of work which was based on this topic of food, focusing on the idea of consumption – meat and animals – This in turn developed in to something called the ‘Pork Pirates’ (or Pork Pie-rates) …and due to my macbook passing away half-way through the project, it forced me or allowed me to experiment with a more diverse range of mediums – including stencils and spray paints and photography – which is the resulting A5 print packs – each print digitally printed with added hand finished details.

Something Old, Something New…

Hi everyone, it’s been too long between posts from me!

Something Old

Back in October last year I was approached to draw a portrait of Nikki Jean, nothing ended up happening with the project so I filed under ‘F for Forget-about-it’, but then thought that I should at least post it up here so people can take a look. The brief was to draw something her fans would associate with things she enjoys – like bakingĀ  cakes and hanging out with her cute dog. Unfortunately I couldn’t bust out with the usual LoungeKat sexy heart-breaker themes and found that this one fell a bit short of everyone’s expectations, but I still think it’s pretty.

Something new

As some of you may already know, I’ve spent the last 3 years of my design career working in-house. Over these years I’ve lived a crazy 14 hour a day, 7 days a week lifestyle and more recently have found myself with more projects than I can manage.

So it’s with much joy and a dash of nervousness that I’m announcing – as of next week – I’m a full time freelancer! I know most of BSV is freelance, so if anyone has any advice on how to ‘Stay Calm and Vector On’ please leave some comment love.

I promise to post some ‘regular’ LK work as soon as it’s finished!
