Chanteuse Lily poster

I created this poster for a super-talented singer named Lily. I designed her Dreamer EP cover a couple of years ago. This project was a lot of fun to work on, as I love creating anything relating to music. It’s a bit different to my usual illustrations as I usually focus on drawing just the face, but this time I have drawn the entire body as well as background details. It’s good to challenge yourself and try different things.

I did two colour variations, the client loved both and decided they wanted to use both versions in the future. Which version do you like better – blue or purple?

Kickstarter: The Altered States of America

Chop Shop has been arranging the icons from the most popular science fiction, fantasy and horror for some time now into various compositions that usually get printed on tshirts. Now they are taking that concept into the realm of cartography. The Altered States of America will feature some of the greatest scenes from pop-culture history illustrated into a map of the USA. Examples to include: the iconic scene of “King Kong” atop New York’s Empire State Building, the final scream scene of “Body Snatchers” outside San Francisco’s City Hall, or the unforgettable scene of a devastated Statue of Liberty on a NJ beach, just to name but a few.

This one in particular has not been chosen, but I spent so much work on it that I wanted to share :) . Dr Slump Vol 1 | Kult Book Covers Exhibition | Singapore 2013

Client: Kult 3D / Singapore
Publication/Event: Kult Magazine Issue 11 / Exhibition ‘Book Covers’ theme

“We asked over 50 designers, artists, illustrators and photographers to choose a book which has influenced them and shaped who they are today. They have chosen books to bring them back to the front of our minds.”

I Re-imagined – Dr Slump Vol 01 – ‘The Birth of Arale’s book cover, for Kult Studio / Gallery’s ‘Book’ themed magazine and exhibition. I wanted to pay homage to one of the greatest mangakas, Akira Toriyama whose work I grew up with. The imagination, story-telling and worlds created by Toriyama, ignited my love for illustration and inspired me to create my own worlds and characters.
